Privacy policy
Last updated October 18, 2026
Lumora Dental (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and your choices. It applies to online booking, patient accounts and messages you send us.
What we collect
- Booking details: your name, mobile number, email, chosen treatment, dentist and time, whether it's your first visit, and any notes you add.
- Account details: if you create an account, your email and, if you use Google sign-in, your name and profile picture from Google.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form, email or WhatsApp.
- Technical data: anonymous usage statistics (pages viewed, booking steps reached) and security logs such as IP addresses used to prevent abuse.
We deliberately do not collect your medical history online. Your dentist records it in person at your visit, in our clinical records, which are kept separately from this website.
How we use it
- To schedule, confirm, remind you about and manage your appointments.
- To contact you if your appointment needs to change.
- To answer your questions.
- To keep the website secure and understand how to improve it.
We never sell your information or use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:
- MongoDB Atlas (database hosting) and Vercel (website hosting).
- Google Calendar, where your appointment appears in the clinic's calendar.
- Resend, which sends our confirmation and reminder emails.
- Vercel Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.
We choose providers with strong security and data protection commitments, and we sign Business Associate Agreements where HIPAA requires them.
Your health information (HIPAA)
Information in your dental record is protected health information under HIPAA. Our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, available at the front desk and on request, explains how we may use and disclose it and your rights to access, correct and restrict it.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for as long as you are our patient and for the period Texas dental record-keeping rules require after your last visit. Security logs are deleted automatically within 90 days.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you reminders, by emailing hello@lumoradental.example. You can delete your online account at any time from your account page.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms against abuse. The map on our contact page is loaded from Google only when you choose to show it, and Google may set its own cookies at that point.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to clinic staff who need it, staff accounts are protected by two-factor authentication and calendar access tokens are encrypted at rest.
